Local Moving in Tustin

Local moving in Tustin and across the Irvine line

Tustin borders Irvine, and many local moves here cross that line. The District at Tustin Legacy is about 1.3 miles from Irvine City Hall; Old Town Tustin is about 6 miles, roughly 11 minutes without traffic by Jamboree Road and I-5. A move between the two cities is billed like any local move: by the hour, with a 3-hour minimum.

Tustin Legacy is still being built out on former base land, with new phases still adding homes, while Tustin Ranch and Old Town have established streets and driveways. Check whether your new building or community has move hours, a loading spot or an insurance certificate requirement; Ark can provide a certificate of insurance with about a week's notice.

On streets in Tustin's preferential permit program, parking is restricted from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. every day without a permit, and large commercial trucks can't get one. A daytime move isn't affected, but a loaded truck can't be left on such a street overnight. A "Tustin" mailing address may also be in unincorporated North Tustin, which has no city government.

The crew arrives with dollies, straps, moving blankets and basic tools, and usually 4 or 5 wardrobe boxes you can use for free. Beds, desks and tables are taken apart and rebuilt at the new place within the hourly time. The crew can disconnect a washer, dryer or refrigerator when it's safe, but reconnecting water or gas lines is a job for a plumber or appliance technician.

FAQs

Local Moving in Tustin: FAQ

How much do movers cost in Tustin?

Local hourly starting rates are $129 for 2 movers, $164 for 3 and $199 for 4, with a 3-hour minimum and quarter-hour billing after that.

Is a Tustin to Irvine move local?

Yes. The two cities share a border, so it's a short local move billed at hourly rates.

Do you reassemble beds and desks?

Yes. Taking furniture apart and putting it back together is part of normal hourly labor, so your rooms can be set up the same day.

Can you take my TV off the wall?

Usually yes, at no extra labor charge when it can be done safely with standard tools. The crew doesn't mount TVs at the new home; a TV-mounting professional should do that.

Is there anything you won't move?

Firearms, ammunition, propane tanks, gasoline, fireworks and other hazardous or flammable materials. Plants can go when there's room, but they're fragile and may be damaged in transit. If you're unsure about an item, ask before moving day.
